Operations at Particular

At Particular, we do things a little differently. While we hire exceptionally talented individuals, we believe our roles go beyond just our professional concentrations. Some of the activities may sound familiar, such as payroll processing, order fulfillment, vendor payments, etc., but it doesn't stop there. Our operations staff, like everyone in our company, are involved in all aspects of the company, whether it's contributing to hiring decisions, organizing events, measuring financial metrics, reconciliations, or improving internal processes.

For instance, the text you’re reading now was written by a group comprised of operations staff and a software developer who volunteered to work on a hiring task force. Along with other responsibilities like reviewing resumes and conducting interviews, we will also continue to look at ways to continuously improve our hiring process. This may involve updating documentation, tweaking processes, or developing an exercise for candidates to perform. At the same time, you may participate in a cross-functional task force, comprised of engineers, salespeople, and operations staff working together on financial forecasting. Another multi-disciplinary task force may be busy planning our company conference.

This kind of cross-functional collaboration and breadth-oriented approach is typical at Particular. It’s a safe way to step outside our comfort zones, allows us to collaborate with those skilled in other disciplines, and grow together by providing peer-to-peer feedback. Oh, but don't worry; there are still plenty of opportunities to do the kind of work you especially enjoy, applying your attention to detail and data analysis skills to executing our processes within the operations' world.
